Essential Things That You Must Know AboutCar’s Air Conditioner

You might wonder how the air conditioner works or perhaps you have not given it a thought at any time. To tell you in brief, this air conditioning unit not only cools down the temperature but also reduces the moisture content. Interestingly, this type of conditioners can work in a similar way whether it can be installed inside a car or a house. The fridge, in a way, is also an air conditioning system. Let us throw some light on the main components used by the vehicle to run the air conditioning system properly.

Most of the people do not even realize that switching on the air conditioner actually decreases the total number of miles per gallon of your vehicle. There is a lot of energy involved in removing the heat as well as moisture from air inside the car and this actually consumes petrol due to additional engine load. Below are a few essential components of auto air conditioning system.

A compressor is the workhouse of this air conditioning unit, powered by the belt attached to the engine’s crankshaft. If the air conditioner is switched on, this device can pump the refrigerator vapor under the high pressure to the condenser. Then the compressor can draw the refrigerant in the low pressure to start one more refrigeration cycle. This cycle runs continuously and it is regulated by setting the expansion valve.

Air conditioner of a vehicle consists of an essential device called condenser. It is used to alter the high-pressure refrigerant into liquid form. It can be mounted in the front side of the radiator of the engine, and it looks like a radiator.

The evaporator is another device that resembles a radiator. Since the cold refrigerant in low-pressure is effectively passed inside the evaporator, it can vaporize as well as absorbing heat from air inside the passenger compartment. The fan in the passenger compartment then pushes air outside the evaporator, so that cold air may be circulated inside the car.
